Growing up, we always had pets in our family. We had all sorts including fish, turtles, parakeets, cats and then finally my love for dogs came into play.
As a child, we always had a family dog that mom or dad had brought home from co-workers or friends whose dogs had puppies. As an adult, I became aware of a co-worker whose dogs had a litter and there was one little puppy left that couldn't find a home and they did not know what to do with him and where he would end up. Here enters the love affair of Zina and Buster, Jr. the little Chi Terrier Mix.
Buster was the love of my life and went everywhere with me. Since he fit in my purse, he was my constant companion and everyone who knew me had the chance to know Buster, Jr.
Since the day Buster, Jr. crossed the Rainbow Bridge, I have never been without a furry friend.
I then met my husband Rich and we both shared the same love of animals. We have been together for 15 years and we have never been with less than 3 furry kids at a time.
Fast forward to present day and we meet the famous Raphaele Brilliant one day when meeting to adopt a puppy that one of her rescues litters-Sassy’s puppy-Naomi now known as Isis Naomi.
and then we needed another one of Sassy’s puppies-Cleopatra. Again we met with Raphaele, but this time it was on her territory at one of the kennels she used. It was all over as we were hooked into becoming volunteers!
Now she had us and we loved every minute of her wonderful personality and the exciting world of rescue!
oh but wait, now we were volunteers and we had to rescue yet another one of Sassy’s puppies-Ora and so here we are…
Working with Raphaele and Sachi Animal Rescue has been the best experience in my lifetime and I am so proud to be a part of this awesome organization “finding forever homes for forgotten dogs” .
